How do I get started?
Very easy! Sign Up: Simply, click the "Order" link, and complete the entire form right online. Your account should be activated within 30 minutes (usually faster). You will be able to pay via any major credit card.

How long does it take to get completely set up?
After your registration is complete, you should receive your welcome e-mail within 30 minutes. The e-mail will give you all the information you may need on our technical support, IP Address, FTP information, and other important hosting details. At this point if you have any questions, then feel free to contact technical support.

What is in the Welcome E-Mail? TOP OF PAGE
This email tells you how appreciative we are for having you be part of our community. It also gives you all the pertinent information you will need to put your account into effective use. Your welcome email will also have information on how to contact us 24 hours a day for support.

Will I have 24-hour access to my web site via FTP?
Yes. You can have full, unrestricted access via FTP and to your POP e-mail account 24 hours a day. The reason Telnet is banned is for security reasons. To ensure our 99.8% uptime guarantee, we have to make sure all information sent to our server is fully encrypted and untraceable.

Do you offer service outside of the U.S.?
Yes, we currently service clients in many countries, and we can host any foreign domain extension. All services available to our local clients are made fully available to our international clients.

Does United States Web Host offer technical assistance?

Yes, we offer free assistance 24 hours a day to get you setup on the web. Either by phone or email, our support team will try and assist you as much as they can. Since Technical Support is our number ONE priority, we try to make everything we do efficient.

What is a Virtual Domain?
A Virtual Domain means having your own domain name (http://www.yourname.com) without having to install expensive server hardware and software. With a Virtual Domain, you utilize our server's storage space, however you are still professionally represented via your own personal Internet web address domain name (www.yourname.com) and by your own personal e-mail address domain name (you@your-name.com).

Who is the InterNIC?
The InterNIC is an independent organization responsible for holding the registration and routing of Internet domain names. Without them it may be impossible to maintain order on the Internet.

Can I access my domain address with or without the
" www"?
Yes, you will be able to access the domain address with or without the "www" in front of the domain name. Example: [http://www.your-name.com] is acceptable, whichever you prefer.

Do you handle the domain registration process for
.com, .net, and .org domains? TOP OF PAGE
Yes, Once your account is paid for, we handle the entire domain registration process.

Can I transfer existing domain names to your
servers?
Yes, just be sure to specify that you are requesting a transfer and NOT a new domain. You should keep the service with your current provider while waiting for InterNIC to complete the transfer process. We will provide you with a temporary IP address so you can mirror the site on our server. All email and web pages will still be accessed from your current site. When InterNIC sends your email telling you the transfer is complete, then there is a 24-72-hour propagation period where visitors could go to either site. At the end of the 24-72 hours you should contact your previous host to have them delete the old domain from their records and update their DNS record. If you use this same provider for your Internet access you will not be able to access your domain site until they update their DNS.

How long does it take before my domain name
is active?
Once the InterNIC announces that your domain name has been registered (or transferred, if applicable), it usually takes about 24-72 hours before it is active.
All Internet providers must update their records (DNS tables) to reflect the new site's location.

How do I transfer files to my web site?

Files must be transferred to the web server via File Transport Protocol (FTP).

Will I have unlimited access to update my pages?
You have unlimited access via FTP 24-hours a day. As such, you can create and maintain your web pages on your own computer and upload files to your web site at your leisure.

Can I use my account for commercial purposes?
Yes, you can use your account for commercial purposes. The World Wide Web has become the most efficient and cost-effective means of making information available to the users of the Internet community and we encourage our customers to utilize their accounts for commercial purposes as long as they abide by our terms and conditions.

How long does it take to set up a new account?

New accounts are generally set up within 30 minutes from the time we receive your order. Once an account is set up an activation notice will be sent to you via email including your user-ID, password, and FTP hostname. You can begin uploading files to your new web site immediately. Domain account users will be given a temporary URL to access their site via the web prior to the completion of either domain registration or domain modification.

Can I subdivide my space and resell it?
No, we do not allow you to create subdirectories. You will be violating our policy, which in turn will be grounds for immediate deletion of account and all files within it.

How can I pay for my account?
We accept PayPal and credit cards (Visa, MasterCard, Discover, American Express).
